Carriage check up (maintenance)

Regularly inspect your carriage, ideally at least once a year. Pay special attention to the following components:

– Bolts on a new carriage should be inspected after the initial use.

– Check all bolts, with a focus on the suspension, fifth wheel, and wheels, ensuring they are properly tightened.

– Inspect the brakes, brake pads, and brake pump (located under the driver’s seat).

– Ensure the fifth wheel is regularly greased.

Before embarking on a journey, it’s advisable to inspect the following components on both the harness and horse carriage:

– Line snaps

– Holdback straps

– Single trees and bolts

– Single tree straps

– Shaft eyes

– Brakes

– Slow-moving vehicle emblem (Fanny flag)

– Battery

– Lights
